KOSTAS SFIKAS – BIZANTINSKA KUBISTIČKA FILMSKA EKSTRAVAGANCA
U petak 07.02. u 20:30 u pojekcijskoj sali Kino klub Split možete prisustvovati projekciji filma “Alligoria” (Alegorija: 1986) u režiji klasika grčke avangarde Kostasa Sfikasa (1927-2009). U “Shorts Petting” predprogramu (powered by the “AGITATE:21C” web-oriented group) s početkom u 19:15 ovoga petka prezentiramo selekciju eksperimentalnih filmova prikazanih tijekom prošlogodišnjeg prvog izdanja beogradskog “Kinoskopa – internacionalnog festivala analogne eksperimentalne kinematografije i audio-vizualnih izvedbi” koju je sastavio (uz Marka Milićevića) selektor festivala i naš povremeni suradnik Nikola Gocić. Sedamdesetominutni program pod prigodnim nazivom ‘Myths, Secrets & Science Fiction’ objedinjuje eksperimentalne filmove osam autorica povezane vizualnom paradigmom konstrukcija similarnih filmskih obzora utemeljenih na osobnom iskustvu i uvidu u klasičnu eksperimentalno filmsku tradiciju za koju se vezuju opusi autorica kao što su Marie Menken, Jane Arden i Chantal Akerman. Radove u Nikolinom odabiru potpisuju: Antonia Luxem, Juana Robles, Atoosa Pour Hosseini, Jael Jacobo, Charlotte Pryce, Susu Laroche, Ieva Balode i Signe Birkova. Za iduća tri termina najavljujemo ciklus filmova “BEYOND AND AFTER CINEMA OF TRANSGRESSION” u sklopu kojega će biti prikazani slijedeći filmovi:
14.02.2020.
Mary Jordan – Jack Smith and the Destruction of Atlantis (2006)
21.02.2020.
Richard Kern – Extra Action and Extra Hardcore (2007)
28.02.2020.
Nick Zedd – Beyond Transgression: New Short Movies! (2011-2017)
Također, do kraja veljače u sklopu “Short(s) Petting” predprograma svakog petka s početkom u 19:15 prikazujemo set liste gostujućih programera Kino kluba Split. Svoje vizije nove eksperimentalne kinematografije će predstaviti Michael Woods (New York), Sebastián Jiménez Galindo (Mexico) i Giorgos Efthimiou (Greece).

MAIN TERM:
KOSTAS SFIKAS – ALLIGORIA (1986)
“Kostas Sfikas was born in Athens in 1927. He worked as an employee in the post office in his juvenile years. In 1961, he directs a short film and begins his adventure as a self-taught cinematographer. Seven years later, along with Stavros Tornes, he directs the short documentary, Theran Matins, bought later by MOMA in New York. Devoted to experimental cinema, Kostas Sfikas has filmed nine documentaries and fiction films and continues to create, being a constant alternative voice in Greek cinema. A complete retrospective of his work will be accompanied by a publication of a monograph. The film “Allegoria” recalls various periods of Greece’s history. Sfikas studies and interprets the artistic movements of his time, influenced by eighties Post-Modernism. Starting in antiquity, he passes through the Byzantine and feudal eras and ends up in capitalism, without proposing this as a final end. Following the spire of this development, Sfikas resorts to poetic allegory. His cinematic oratorio, where angels are crushed in the abyss of civilizations, is something more than the transformation of a philosophical idea into a film; it becomes the very soul of the poet who wonders about its perpetual evolution.”
